Music Video

The final and most anticipated project of the year! Technically known as a 'split-line editing' project, students must select a song and appropriate topic (must be approved by the teacher). Unlike previous projects, students put their music on the timeline BEFORE they edit video. Students then shoot raw footage and then edit the video to the beat and/or mood of the music. Students are free to use any technique and effect they wish to make this a truly creative piece of work.

Courtney Zigman's Tribute to her Mom

Like her older sister Erica, Courtney also produced this moving tribute to her mother. This was actually turned in as her "music video" project. We are proud of her work!

ENG Report Project

In this project, students will select a topic appropriate for a report. Students will then interview a number of subjects, tape opening and closing stand ups, b-roll footage and a cutaway/reaction shot. Students then edit the raw footage and add graphics and voice over to complete the report. New skills learned include: selecting newsworthy topics, use of b-roll footage, writing script for news and voice over.

Erica Zigman's Tribute to her Mom

Erica produced this moving slideshow as a tribute to her mother. She worked tirelessly for a number of weeks and had to overcome some technological problems. We are proud of her work!

Interview Project

Students' first opportunity to use cameras. In this project, students will interview a subject, tape an opening and closing stand up and a cutaway/reaction shot. Students then edit the raw footage and add graphics. New skills learned include: use of camera, proper picture composition, reporting with "Rule of Threes", capturing video, using cutaways and adding graphics, including incorporating "Editor's Toolbox" animated graphics.

Slideshow Project

This is our first opportunity to use non-linear editing software. It allows us to create a video slideshow by combining photos, graphics (titles), transitions, effects and music.
